Undersold.. don’t be put off by the 2.5 stars

In the build up to stopping in San Francisco I did what most responsible travellers would do to get the most out of their holiday, research research more research then spend days checking for price alterations. After an exhaustive search I ended up selecting the holiday inn express, union square and I haven’t looked back, I now wander around San Fran marvelling at my choice looking at the tacky looking 3 and 4 star hotels most of which costs at least 50% more, San Fran is a really expensive place. The hotel is located around 2/3 mins from Union square. The rooms are clean, well maintained and serviced, the shower is quite large and no mound in the grout. Staff are also very pleasant. Breakfast is included and this is really useful if you are looking to save on costs, it is undersold on their website and actually includes a really good variety for which you can get a good fill that will last until mid afternoon. You can also usually pop back into the breakfast room to get a coffee or tea at any point during the day (not evenings or night). Room tip: Get at least the third floor as on certain days you can hear music from downstairs however, it isn’t on until late and you should be out enjoying the city Booking tip: Register with TopCashback then book through hotels.com or ebookers. All fees included then usually get around 10% cash back
