On arrival at 11 am we left our bags at the property. Returned just after 3 pm to check in and were very pleased to have been upgraded to the Abbey Suite - our luggage was already in our room. Loved the fact you got a breakfast and that there was water and cans of juice in our fridge replenished everyday. The evening wine and nibbles from 5-6.30 pm was an added bonus. All the staff were helpful and professional. The hotel is conveniently situated close to all amenities and the cable car stops on Bush Street. Have stayed here before and will definitely stay here again if I return to San Franscisco.

The service was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to help you. Liked the wine and food they put on in an afternoon. Nice relaxed atmosphere and nice quirky decor. Fire was very cosy. Breakfast was nice but some of it was not to our taste

Fantastic hotel. All staff gave wonderful customer service. Delicious breakfast. Fridge in room restocked daily with cans of juice and bottles of water. Coffee/tea available all day in parlour. Cookies in jar at reception from noon. Wine reception from 5 to 6.30 pm every evening in parlour with nibbles (cheese/biscuits, dips, cakes). Changed daily. We met many guests from all over and exchanged tips and restaurant suggestions. Have never stayed in a hotel like it. If travelling to S.F. again would certainly stay at the White Swan Inn. Uncle Vitos italian restaurant at corner of Bush Street/Powell Street excellent value. Tip: to see the real San Franscisco buy a Muni bus pass - lets you travel on busses, trolleys and cable cars.

Very quirky in great location

We had a great stay here. It is comfortable with great service and a welcome break from all the chain hotels that look the same.

Amazing!!

The hotel met and far surpassed our expectations. We loved the charm and character and the staff were just amazing. This isn't a sterile, brand new hotel but that's exactly why we loved it.

Hotelli sanoo olevansa englantilaistyyppinen majatalo. Se pitää ehkä hyvin paikkansa. Talo ei tunnu hotellilta vaan enemmän kodilta. Ulko-ovesta tullaan sisään omilla avaimilla, vaikka pienessä aulassa onkin aina joku. Käytävt ovat kapeita ja hissi vanhanaikainen. on helpompi kiivetä kapeat portaat kuin käyttää hissiä. Kellarissa on kodikas sali, jossa palaa takka ja joka on sisustettu enemmän olohuoneeksi kuin ravintolaksi. Salissa asukkaat käyvät työpäivän jälkeen juttelemassa ja juomassa talon tarjoamaa viiniä. Huoneet ovat isoja ja muistattavat myös enemmän makuuhuonetta kuin hotellia. En suosittele lapspiperheelle, mutta aikuisille kylläkin.
