Pretty hotel in the centre of town by the river.

Pros: Convenient, clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. There was a bath in the ensuite, a real bonus for me. Perfect location.
Cons: It should be clearer on the description that there is very limited free parking.
Location: Lovely countryside so perfect for cycling and walking. Not far from the sea. Very pretty medieval town. Plenty of pubs and restaurants. Roman fort.
Comfortable hotel in an excellent location. Perfect as a base for cycling in the beautiful surrounding countryside, the central position and wide choice of local restaurants made eating out in the evening interesting and convenient. The room was lovely, a bit of a climb up the stairs but well worth it for a panoramic view over medieval rooftops and the river. We were very lucky to get one of only four free on-site parking spaces which made our stay that much easier and cheaper.

A bit tired.

Pros: The outdoor seating for bar,
Cons: Room décor - walls hadn't bern finished painting! Breakfast.
Location: Walks.
Our room, No16 had one wall which had bee half painted green but just stopped as if somebody was coming back, but forgot? Nobody said anything or offered an explanation. The room was ok but just like the furniture and fittings had been there a long time. When we explained that we had to go back a night early and was there any chance of another last minute night at a later date, there was no empathy. Our situation wss unforeseen and as a result of illness. The breakfast was mediocre. The buffet was just cereal and dried apricots etc. The main hot items were brought to table and were not buffet service.
