My stay here unfortunately fell short of my expectations for a 5-star, £200+/nt hotel in Bali. There are many great features of Alila, and having talked to the general manager upon checkout, I found it comforting that the negatives of my stay will be looked into. The positives: - three amazing pools, two of them infinity overlooking the beach - location. Loads of good restaurants (eg Bambu) and spas nearby. Potato Head is right next door, as is the W Hotel. - IMO the beach bar vibe was more refined than spending £££ at Potato Head or W's beach bar - great own-brand Alila toiletries in the bathrooms - free flow sunscreen, cooling gel, cold wet towels, and chilled water at the pools - good sized Deluxe suites - luxurious bedding and bed The disappointments: - mouldy damp rooms. Even the second one after I asked to switch. - the electrics went funny second night, ceiling lights all started flickering, needing a late night electrician call-in to fix - very low shower water pressure, just unacceptable for a 5 star establishment - self serve breakfast is same selection every day, and the a la carte options take a long time to be served. Service is also lacking, taking forever to clear empty plates and glasses - after rain (which is often), all the building walkways are super wet and flooded. They should send staff to mop the excess water. - air con speed even at low fan speed feels like a big wind when in bed due to positioning

Nice hotel overall, last night was ruined by some unpleasant food but put this down to just a bad day in the office for the chef! Would stay here again.

Etablissement fabuleux

Sans aucun doute un des meilleurs hôtels dans lequel nous avons séjourné. Excellente situation, infrastructure de premier ordre avec 3 immenses piscines, une gym de premier ordre. Excellent restaurant avec vue sur l'océan. Atmosphère sobre et chic. Les chambres et suites sont très confortables.

Renovations + Closures

In accordance with local regulations, all visitors must remain within the property during Seclusion Day (Nyepi)/Hindu New Year for a 24-hour period (starting at 6 AM). Seclusion Day typically falls in March or April (dates subject to change each year). Check-in and check-out will not be possible on that date. Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali International Airport) is also closed on Seclusion Day.
