Good for budget concious travellers.

Despite the building being old, where one can hear people talking in the corridors, the room is very clean and the our stay was comfortable. The complimentary internet connection is very fast and the location is good for those taking the bus and MRT. The safe provided took care of our passports and valuables. Water pressure and water temperature for the shower is quite ok. The TV provided is quite big though we did not have much use for it since we were always tired arriving at the hotel. For the budget conscious who just want a place to sleep for the night and sleep soundly, this hotel is much recommended.

unique late 1930s style

The atmosphere of the place gave the historical feel with modern facilities. Trouble had been taken to retain some of the furniture and features relating to the 1930-40s. Clean and neat & room with good bed and clean sheets. The room was quite small with no wardrobe or cupboard.. We stayed in the room facing the busy road, hence can be quite noisy, despite being in the third floor. the back rooms were obviously quite popular. Complimentary water bottles and coffee/tea making facility in the room was good.

Budget accommodation

The room decor was basic but clean. There were no carpets but slippers were provided. The bed was extremely comfortable and all linen and towels were very crisp and clean. The tea and coffee facilities and complimentary bottles of water were replenished daily and the room had a small fridge. There was air conditioning. The only negatives were very little storage space in the form of drawers and no wardrobe. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were shops and food courts within easy walking distance and the MRT was only a five minute walk away. We will stay here again on a stopover.

Wenn man keine Ansprüche stellt, ist es ok

Hotel sieht wirklich nur von außen gut aus. Zimmer sind winzig klein, Fußboden ist der blanke Estrich, es steht gerade mal ein Bett und ein Schreibtisch drin. Zugang zum Bett ist nur über eine Seite möglich, da es mit zwei seiten an der Wand steht und an der anderen unverbauten Seite Seite ein Flachbildschirm an die Wand gehangen wurde! Es gibt keinen Schrank, dafür aber 4 Kleiderbügel die vor dem Fernseher hängen! Koffer muß man versuchen in diesen 8 qm großen zimmer zu verstauen! Zimmer ist außerdem sehr hellhörig und von der Straße hat man auch den Lärm der Fahrzeuge, der auch Nachts kaum abschwächt! das Bad ist durch eine Glastür abgetrennt und im etwas 4-5 qm groß! Hier befindet sich übrigens das einzige Fenster, dafür gibt es im Bad auch keinerlei Abstellfläche für irgendetwas! Dusche ist vorhanden, dafür kein Duschvorhang so das die Toilette auch gleich mit gereinigt wird! Hatten mit Frühstück gebucht, aber wenn man einen Saft dazu trinken möchte kostet dies extra!

Für ein paar Nächte ist es ok

In Singapur bekommt man schwerlich was günstigeres und die Basis-Anforderungen werden durchaus erfüllt. Aber es liegt direkt an einer Hauptstraße und der Verkehr ist auch Nachts deutlich hörbar. Die Lage zwischen zwei MRT-Linien ist eigentlich ok aber man benötigt doch jeweils 10 Minuten, was auf Dauer nerven kann. Das Boutique-Thema ist nur halbherzig umgesetzt und abgesehen vom Eingangsbereich wirkt es nicht sehr einladend. Immerhin ist direkt gegenüber ein 7-Eleven Shop und ein 24-Stunden Food Court.
