Lovely location, not good enough value

Pros: Location
Cons: It really needs to lower its prices or improve its rooms. Personally we did not find the staff overly friendly especially on the front desk.
Location: Fantastic location. Walk for 2 hours toward Salcombe and catch the ferry from South Sands to arrive in Salcombe. A great suggestion by the hotel.
Firstly, the hotel is in a stunning location, right on the SW Coast path and in a beautiful quiet unspoilt cove. It is a little off the beaten track and you really need a car to get here as the closest bus stop is a 2 mile walk along a narrow road. The room we had was not particularly special. It had a comfortable bed but the room was quite basic for the price and the bathroom definitely needed some updating. Breakfast is in the restaurant or cafe with lovely views, but I was a little disappointed with the quality and charging an extra £1 for a slice of black pudding was a little penny pinching. It is sort of 'dog friendly', but it felt like there are a lot of rules about where dogs can go.

Stunning location to get away from it all...

Don't expect phone service or great internet ... this is a place to unplug and get back to nature ... fantastic walks straight from the hotel... great food and service, friendly and helpful.
