I paid £109 for a single bed and I’m not small, I think it was a kids bed. It was the last room available under £150 in Swansea for my daughters graduation. Very dated very old and needs some TLC won’t be staying here again

Nice hotel right in the city centre

Couldn't have picked a better location. Very nice staff, lovely food.

Okay hotel - not exactly a boutique

I wouldn't say that The Dolphin is a bad hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was ideal for doing business in Swansea. However, there are several things that aren't great about it. Firstly, the room itself was very small, and the décor throughout the hotel looked tired. This is no great problem, but for the price I paid for the overnight stay, not really a good indicator of value for money. Also, the hotel markets itself as boutique, when it's nothing of the sort. It's just another generic hotel. I wouldn't go as far as to say that the staff were rude, but most of them didn't seem to be particularly helpful. Again, not a big deal, but when you consider the quality of service you get at most hotels these days, you'd expect more. As someone who travels a lot for work, and stays in a lot of hotels, I'd say that The Dolphin is a bit overpriced, looks outdated, and needs to do more to make sure that staff are more welcoming. There are no major flaws with it, but travellers can likely find a better deal at another hotel.
