Toilet had not been cleaned.... urine on seat, Lumpy bed and building work taking place which we were not advised about made this a disappointing experience. Staff very friendly, free car parking and a welcoming bar enhanced our stay

Overnight stop off

Pros: location setting and style
Cons: breakfast trays
Location: great for the catherdral, shops,and restaurants
Lovely hotel,room great, only letdown by a poor in room breakfast.

Nice to be so close to town and market

Pros: Close to everything and very clean
Cons: Would have liked to be able to open windows to get fresh air. Also would be helpful if the other car parks could be noted on line.
Location: Christmas market, shops and regular market
Very good although would have liked the opportunity to have an evening meal in restaurant and not Cafe Rouge.

Very well located, plenty of parking

Pros: Welcoming and helpful staff, beautiful building in a great location.
Cons: Although pleasant the air freshener on our lower ground floor was a little overpowering at times.
Location: Nowhere is far away. Independent shops, but also places of interest eg the Cathedral, Theatre and Local Park. The view down the hill was fantastic!
Lovely building, centrally located. Very well presented rooms with all one could need for a short break. Staff are very welcoming and also well informed about StAlbans and it’s attractions. Breakfast was lovely and gave a wide choice to suit all tastes. Definitely would stay again and strongly recommend to friends and family.

Relaxing weekend at St Albans

Pros: Location- staff -cleaniness
Cons: We did not have breakfast as we thouht that at £9.95per person it was expensive considering that some of us did not want full english
Location: Location excellant for everything in the city itself. Cathedral beautiful adjoining park lovely shops plentiful. Plenty to do to pass relaxing days.
Hotel exvellant location could not have been better. Reception staff a credit to hotel

Central location, Lovely historical building.

Pros: Unique building, friendly staff, location
Cons: Shame several images on the website are of parts of the building not accessible to general guests - shame you cant make more of those areas.
Location: Central for local unusual independent shops, all range of shopping, historical buildings and cathedral - covers all tastes for all types of getaways.
Lovely place to stay for a getaway. Central location, beautiful old building with smart modern accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff day and night. Surprisingly good value for money, especially given its location and standards throughout. Have already recommended to friends.

Great welcoming staff

From the receptionists to waiters/waitresses and bartenders to housekeeping. Everybody was just so friendly and welcoming. Comfortable stay.

Cons: Beer tasted a little of (Becks), so this should be checked
Location: close to the cathedral and shops and market was nearby.
Very pleasant hotel which was in a great location for everything we needed

Good city centre location

Location: Close to the beautiful cathedral, shops, restaurants and stunning Saturday market
one night only enough to appreciate this surprising city hotel. Reception were very helpful when someone parked in our reserved parking bay
