Plus point - very good for facilities like spa and golf. Minus point - Room maintenance (Rm 53) I feel is not good enough for a top hotel. 1. Bath near plug hole is going rusty. 2. The seal for the bath glass door has worn allowing water to escape under it. 3. The sink tapes are loose and the cold tap runs slowly. 4. Toilet roll holder is loose. 5. The bedroom cupboard doors do not close properly.

Our sea view room was very disappointing for the price. Our room was small and not like any of the advertised rooms. The small window had the curtain jammed half way across the window, We were there on a special offer living social for 2 nights with a standard room with no outside window so when we paid for an additional 2 nights in a better standard room with a sea view, the room was no nicer or bigger, we just had half a view until I asked them to fix it the curtain. I stayed at this hotel about 3 years ago for a wedding and we had a lovely room.

Beautiful location, stunning grounds.

Stunning location, lovely food. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The only criticism we had was that our hotel room was far too hot, even with the radiator turned off. You could only open the window a small amount so we barely had any ventilation. However, the staff were great and provided us with a fan on request.

Nice hotel, but not the best I've seen

Pros: Personnel, gardens, haven't used the swimming pool, but it looks nice.
Cons: Room cleaning and mattress
Location: Walk around St. Ives, taste pasties and have dinner at the Mermaid restaurant in Fish Street.
I spent in Tregenna two nights. The hotel is really nice and personnel is really really kind and helpful. You can also have nice walks in the gardens. But in my room the bathroom was not cleaned, just the towels have been probably changed and the mattress is not comfortable, even if I realise this could be a subjective comment. Again, is not a disaster, but in my opinion needs improvements.

Great location with stunning sea views

Pros: We had a great stay as we enjoyed the views and the grounds, but disappointed with the hotel itself for the reasons above.
Cons: it needs a comfortable /quiet lounge and a larger dining room for the evenings.
Location: Fantastic!
The location, facilities and grounds make up for the lack of comfort in the hotel. The restaurant in the evening is very busy as it is too small for a hotel of this size. Menu is ok but less than I would expect form a 4 star hotel. The bar was poorly stocked as they had run out of some spirits. It lacks a comfortable lounge to have a pre dinner drink in, it uses the main entrance hall which is very busy.

Pros: Everything!
Location: Location is great and it's about 20 min stroll down into St Ives centre with some great views on the way. Stroll around Tate & Barbara Hepworth House.
Fantastic stay at Treganna Resort in one of the apartments which came with breakfast. Staff are out of this world and will do anything to make sure your stay is perfect. I will be coming back in the summer!

Nice hotel with good facilities

Location: Levant Mine was fascinating. Tate was closed. Take a proper set of waterproofs!
Apart from the fact the hotel is at the top of the hill above St Ives town, (not mentioned in the blurb but we should have guessed since castles are usually on hills), we had a pleasant stay. The staff were excellent. The room was OK although the shower was exciting and my wife did not find the bed comfortable. I do wonder if the people who plan and construct hotel rooms ever stay for a night in their own designs to see what does not work properly. Buffet breakfast was OK but neither the plates nor the food were hot. Price was average.

We are pleased you enjoyed a pleasant stay and that you found our staff to be excellent. Our hotel is 242 years old and I am convinced the designers are no longer able to stay to consider what it is like for our guests.
