The staffs are excellent and very helpful. This hotel is in excellent location and Very clean. The breakfast is excellent. This type of hotel needs more restaurants, more bars and some music. Saffron restaurant is overpriced and the staffs who work are not that friendly. The atmosphere inside this hotel at night is disappointing. The hotel will do with some music.

A beautiful hotel, ideally positioned for those who don't mind walking up steps and a 15 min stroll into the centre. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful. The room was excellent and the spa out of this world. A Jersey citizen we met said she ranked the spa the best on the island!! The food in the Garden View restaurant was superb. I'd definitely recommend this great hotel.

Nice hotel near to town with Spa facilities

No Air cooling. It’s weather is very hot when we went in.need to open the window in the night but end up with lot of noise.

Very convenient for Town

Excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Ideal for a weekend break or longer stay. Very relaxing with tip top facilities. My wife enjoyed every part of our stay, excellent plelentiful breakfast and the evening meal was of a very high quality. Highly recommended to all.

Could be nice hotel.

Pros: Garden Dining / Restaurant room and the garden (when weather allowed)
Cons: Lounge area upstairs and staff serving in this area. Better organisation at break-fast time. Variety with break-fast menu, very samy after 7 days
We had a family reunion here for a week early September. After much internet searching we opted for this one as felt it had something for everyone. Some aspects of the hotel were lovely but there is definitely room for improvement. The garden area and downstairs garden bar / dining room is lovely and the staff there were wonderful. However the only 'lounge' was upstairs and since it was quite rainy during our stay we frequented this a few times to save taxing down into town. On a sunny day it is a lovely walk into main thorough fair of St. Helier but certainly is taxi / bus journey in the rain. The staff in the upstairs 'lounge' were not very pleasant or friendly and made us feel we were interrupting them each time we visited. We did report this to a manager at the time. I refer to this room as a 'lounge' as other than reception it was the only area to sit with an after dinner drink, although it was not a comfortable room and had no atmosphere at all. The drinks and food were a little expensive but having said that the food is lovely in the Garden Restaurant / Bar. Breakfast service was a hit or miss, being asked to wait to be seated and sometimes in a long queue. Because we had a larger party we knew where we were going - the larger table but still had to queue and on several occasions had to ask for tea / coffee as it wasn't always forthcoming. Other than the staff in the Garden Dining / Restaurant room we wouldn't return.

Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens

We went here for a long weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. It is quite a walk from the centre of St Helier but easily done or the option of the complementary shuttle bus/ taxi is available. It was very well staffed with friendly helpful staff. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The spa facilities were excellent and everything was spotlessly clean. We would definitely return to Hotel de France.

Excellent Hotel with fabulous spar

I normally stay with my uncle who lives on the island but due to a family get together there was no room so was recommended this hotel as one of the best on the island for convenience and facility's and will stay again can't fault it the breakfasts were fantastic and the spar a real treat
