The place is poorly maintained bathroom panels that don't fit and the level of mastic filling was appalling. The same can be said for the grounds as well fence panels broken everywhere and rubbish strewn around the grounds.

This hotel is good for a nights stay before getting an early morning flight. The rooms are comfortable and we slept really well. However they still have old TV (non digital) in the rooms, therefore don’t work. The hotel car park is used for long stay airport parking, finding a space is hurrendos especially if you arrive late at the hotel. We found all spaces were taken and we had to park in a boggy/muddy field and were worried we would get stuck in the mud (think Glastonbury festival mud). The staff were grumpy and couldn’t be bothered to help. So don’t expect anything than a bed to sleep in. There is a bar at the hotel but the location of the hotel is in the middle of no where so get all your food/drink before you arrive as once parked you won’t be moving your car again as you risk being unable to find another space until someone leaves.

Hotel was in a good location for us, room was clean. The lampshade on one of the bed side lights was broken, the hotel felt very tired and dated - felt as if you went back in time. Check-in took a long time. Has to fill in a form. The member of staff didn't give us one until being served - could easily have sped up this process. The breakfast was okay, better than expected. They did play fairly cheesy music though - not needed at an early hour.

Lovely hotel with free parking

Pros: food good in restaurant and bar. service very good.
Cons: first room offered was very small and had sky light, so perhaps mention this in the booking details
Location: was a little out of the way for my destination, Hickstead, but great for Gatwick as only 15 mins by taxi.
On arrival was given a room which was quite small with a sky light. it was roasting in there. so called reception and asked for room with a window. Chap in reception said they had a twin room which was fine as I was travelling alone. It was lovely. beds comfy. it looks like it could do with a huge refurb as the silicone around the bath had a huge gap but that did not affect my stay. Tea and coffee in room was nice. Window that opened was very welcomed as no air con. it was cheap and the restaurant and bar food was lovely. would definitely book again but it was slightly out of the way for a direct route down to Hickstead as I normally stay very near Gatwick, but this hotel was cheapest and would definitely stay again but ask for window room on booking.

This hotel is okay the price

Decided to stay here for one night due to a he recent bad weather and the fact that I had an early morning fight to catch To room was ok but the heating had been turned off but it soon warmed up once I worked out how to put it back on The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean The bathroom looked a little tired but I didn’t really expect much for the low price I paid I eat scampi and chips on the hotel bar and have to say it was delicious, freshly cooked and served by a very nice bar lady / waitress As I have already said for the price I paid this place was ok

nice ancient hotel

I liked the hotel it was cosy, but good for the price, there was a few cons but nothing major, the bed was really comfy, the room spacious and the staff were really polite.... the cons for me were that it is far from town and the airport bout 10-20mins, the bathroom smelt bad and the food at the hotel was inedible...

Cheap perfunctory room with adequate facilities.

Pros: Staff, price, simplicity
Cons: Modern overhaul
Location: Tesco is less than 5 miles away and Crawley is on your doorstep for a reasonable night out.
This is not a holiday hotel but serves as a waypoint in your journey. The staff are the best part of this hotel, with the facility itself being all you can ask for the very low price.

Budget hotel

Budget hotel not in the best of condition and the staff do not make any sort of effort to be friendly. I would only recommend this if you need somewhere cheap to lay your head when waiting for a flight and don't care much about the surroundings.

Perfunctory stay with good staff

Pros: Facilities, bar, staff and price
Cons: CRT television - REALLY? Cordless kettle 21st century overhaul of decor and furniture Wifi in rooms - BASIC!!!
When you bought a night at this hotel and became relaxed at the cost - remember that you get what you pay for. Do NOT expect opulence. Do not expect the latest fittings and furniture. There will be a CRT television, not LCD. The kettle is plug in, the decor looks like a worn version from 'The Shining' and the heating creaks occasionally. So what. You paid how much? There is a bar, free wifi in the public areas (alas, not your room.) a restaurant and quiet seating areas. There is room service with food and drink, plenty of parking and the rooms have sound proofing against the air traffic that actually reduces it to a tolerable level. If you are a snob and/or aloof - why are you reading this? Go away. If you are looking to satisfy the logistical need of being near Gatwick before your flight and not wanting to face the dreaded M25 and be able to have your car looked after with CCTV for 7 days as well as the nights stay for less than £60 then this is the hotel for you. I am actually using this hotel as a base away from home before I work in Indonesia. My place of work is nearby but the price of renting accommodation is ridiculous. So if you are looking to indulge in a similar professional need then this is also recommended. In summary, not the Ritz or indeed a refined stay. It does what it says on the tin and treats you well.
