Great stay. Everyone was polite and friendly. Hotel was clean and tidy. Big conference centre but didn’t affect our stay.

Poor management of Hotel and miss-sold
Pros:It's location.
Cons:Overall hotel management. Hotel descriptions (Air con). The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. (this is the 1st review/complaint Ive done)
Arrived and had to wait for 10mins to check in.
No clear directions to where the room was, (it was a good 4-5min walk away from reception)
the Hotel room was BIG and specious, Great.
Unfortunately there was NO air conditioning??? - A double superior room. The website suggests that rooms have Air Con...
The refrigerator was turned off and took until morning to chill
the worst part of the stay...
Dinner.
I had to wait to be seated for a few mins.
I then was approached by 3 different waiters all asking me the same questions. It was very confusing to what was available and I genuinely didn't know if my meal was cooked to order, or that I had to go up to the buffet and get it.
I waited for the food.
I ordered "Smoked Salmon" from the menu as a starter...
Processed, cubed, (tinned) Poached salmon arrived. Not smoked salmon. I did not eat this. Others on a nearside table also commented on this as they too were expecting smoked salmon.
The main was good.
Breakfast - Disaster
I arrived at the restaurant, waited to be seated... But no-one came to see me. It was only when others walked past me I realised that it was a seat yourself and help yourself situation .
Breakfast was dry, cold and poorly presented.
There was clearly not enough staff to handle the large party and there was no service provided. I had walked in, sat down, had some bacon on toast (no eggs were avail or ready) and walked out, all without seeing anyone.
finally I am still chasing my invoice! that is incorrect!!

Fawlty towers in Wiltshire
Well check in was ok had to wait as there was only one member of staff a foreign lady who was fantastic. Then had to ring reception some reason ebookers booked a twin she was more concerned with that than swapping us to a double. got annoyed and said are you going to swap us. hotel was quiet lol. We then went to the bar. No one was serving so I had to go to reception to get someone. Then we went to the pool and it was so cold in the pool area we just stayed in the jacuzzi, did want a swim. my wife tried to use the shower nightmare it got boiling hot, cold then boiling so Dangerous especially a child or older person , the thermostat was faulty also the shower head was blocked and the water was like little pins grrrrrrrrrr. We thought this can’t get worse. We went to the restaurant and were waiting to be sat. Two members of staff walked past not a word. After ten minutes waiting a lovely lad came up and said he was sorry for making us wait. Next we looked at the menu, my wife generally likes vegetarian food there was a tofu stir fry and fish cakes to start, the menu didn’t have many choices. Then they came out and said sorry no fish cakes, then more bad news no stir fry either which was the only vegan choice lol what a joke. The food was good. Then got to dessert I chose sticky toffee pud lol none left. Then came brekkie wasn’t asked for tea, ordered eggs had to ask ten mins later a staff member said he refused to send them they were solid, things weren’t being topped up. grr

Gediegenes, elegantes Hotel mit schöner Umgebung
