Sitting 30 miles to the north, Crescent Beach is a fabulous place to while away an hour or two collecting shells from the shore. Chishingtan Beach also offers some gorgeous views. It lies 45 miles to the north.
Make your way out of Taian and you'll run into some lovely natural sights. Just 30 miles away, Taiping Mountain is a splendid spot to get out into the fresh air. Another recommendation is Renze Hot Spring, 30 miles away from Taian.
Sports followers don't need to worry about being left out in the cold during their stay. Taiwan Provincial Stadium is 30 miles away in Taichung and a fabulous place to get your sporting fix. Remember to check the event schedule to see what's on.
Like the sound of the Yimin Temple and Mingde Dam Scenic Area? These awesome attractions are in Nanzhuang, just 11 miles northwest of Taian. Or perhaps Xiangbi Bridge and the Taiwan Oil Field Exhibition Hall are more up your alley? To visit them, travel to Dahu, 13 miles west.
About 19 miles to the west, Sanyi is a place with lots to offer. The Fo Ding Shan Chao Sheng Temple, Huoyan Shan Forest Ecological Museum and the Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum are all quite close. Keep in mind, Lonsheng Fallen Bridge and Sheng Shing Train Station may be more your style.
