It's uniqueness lies in the fact that the property stands on the edge of a polder, with the river 6 metres above the level of the water channels on the other side. Bird life abounds, sunrises and sunsets are glorious and it is beautifully peaceful. The village of Schipluiden is delightful and we can thoroughly recommend the floating restaurant (Middlepunt). The bedrooms and bathrooms in the B&B are furnished to an extremely high standard and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfasts were very generous and parking is close-by. It is the small touches that make this place stand out, such as the Nespresso coffee machine!
It is well off the beaten track, which appealed to us, but be warned that in order to drive to the larger towns and cities, you have to be prepared to negotiate the Dutch motorways which are traffic jam nightmares.
