Beautiful location overlooking tintagel.. Had always wanted to stay at this imposing Castle. On entry it is every inch a. Typical castle hotel,. Grand dining room, majestic lounge etc. It's. Beautiful and the staff are very friendly. However the bedrooms are a complete let down. Tiny,. Cold,. Mismatched furniture that looks more junk.shop than quirky. The.ensuite.is.a.dirty, rusty pod in the corner of the room. Lifted straight from a. 1970's ferry no hot water until the morning

Room carpet stains and dirty. Please explain customers the shower toilet pods in relevant rooms. Mine was clean and all working order . I was excepting it so I was not diasapoinred but can see why some bad reviews because of this you had. Some touch up here and there in the room will bring it up for £75-85 single room price range. Location outstanding, staff second to none , great food and drinks. Owners aim to bring back forest around the area is fabulous. Easy parking , felt safe. Sun set sunrise and unique opportunity to stay over night there. Thank you.

Disappointing stay.

Stunningly beautiful hotel in a perfect setting from the outside, but unfortunately the inside let itself down. A lot of effort had gone into decorating the public area with a large Christmas tree and decorations which looked beautiful, but unfortunately there were cardboard boxes, deliveries of sorts and other things all piled up everywhere. The room was large with fantastic sea views but again, was freezing due to the only heating being a very small oil filled radiator. We had to keep the curtains closed to keep the heat in so the upgrade wasn't worth it. Also instead of an ensuite we had a pod type construction in the room that wasn't sympathetic to the decor. As it was so small my 6'4" husband couldn't fit in the shower!. This hotel has the potential to be superb, but a lot more thought is needed.

Stay away it's a scam. Dirty cheap tacky

The room cost £175 and had a moulded shower like premier Inn but not as good. All rooms are like this save a few deluxe rooms which are over £300 a night. There are signs saying the hotel is being refurbished. It's a lie. Thone signs have been up 5 years and nothing has changed. The carpets are dreadfully threadbare. The rooms and common parts are unclean. The maid doesn't do your room. The walls are covered by dreading ary and there are self published books and newspapers scattered around claiming he's the "world's greatest living artist". He wanders around and he's wield. Predatory. The waiters acknowledged there is something funny about the place.

Beautiful location

The location of the Hotel is absolutely stunning, the views from every angle is amazing. Walking through the rotating doors and coming into the entrance is exciting as it looks like your going to be staying somewhere unique and beautiful. The downstairs area is amazing very grand just how you imagine a castle or stately home to look like. You are free to wander around and look in the rooms and sit on the comfy sofas and sit at King Arthur round table! In such surroundings we felt like Lord and Lady! The staff were very nice and helpful and showed us around, and we had a choice of two rooms for us to look at first and choose, which was a surprise to us. We choose the better room we felt, but I'm sorry to say it was a let down for the price that we paid. It was £130 for the night plus £10 each for an okay but average breakfast. The dinning room was lovely but in hindsight I felt we should of looked for somewhere else to eat breakfast. The room clean but was old and worn and needed some tlc. The bed was old and uncomfortable it was two single dvan beds pushed together, the bedding was lovely crisp and clean. The bathroom was terrible, it was a fully contained unit added on inside the room just like a caravan bathroom really tiny and the shower didn't drain away very fast and it was very cramped in there with the door shut. We were shocked and have never seen anything like it before, so needless to say we were very disappointed. Such a shame.

needs money spent on it

Pros: position of hotel, spectacular views
Cons: everything, bathroom is the biggest joke if your larger than a size 12 you will struggle i think theres more room in a phone box!!
Location: great location, lots of beautiful places nearby
If you just want a place to sleep then its ok but the place needs money spent on it, have to say i kept itching in the room, they let you take your dogs with you and im thinking if they have fleas how well is place cleaned after they leave.. my room had a funny smell in it also, there is definately no money being spent on the place, bathroom is extremely tiny, so much room to have a decent sized bathroom, dont get me started on the artwork everywhere by the same artist its so not in keeping with the place and i found it to be tacky, reception staff were polite, staff in the bar etc polite but if you want a conversation with them its not going to happen. there is a lack of personality throughout the place. if the rooms were half the price a night then it would be ok but for what i paid its a rip off.
