Overall very pleasant pleasant stay for the price.The perks: rooms are clean and recently refurb although they are basic. You choose the hotel for the fantastic view over the ocean as it is on a cliff. Outdoor pool was nice. Staff were pleasant. The negatives: very limited menu, no hairdryer in the room, showers in room were either too hot or too cold, no warm showers. They take a 100 pound charge on your card to hold during your stay. Returning it to you is not instant. This is of course ridiculous and more expensive hotels do not do this. Good overall stay though. The rooms are basic so you need to expect this and if you do the stay will be very enjoyable.

Wonderful location & superb view from our suite. Unfortunately when l asked for liqueur coffee l was curtly told by the bar staff member that they dont do them. I then asked do you not have single cream (which all restaurants normally have for sweets) l was simply told no. The receptionist went & found out that people dont ask for them now. So a top notch hotel does not stock cream !! Our table waiter & breakfast staff were all friendly & polite as well as efficient.

Our room was delightful. Clearly it has been refurbished fairly recently. The room had all we needed. Lovely bathroom with a great shower. Tea and coffee, biscuits!, a wardrobe, a safe, hairdryer, etc. I was only expecting a regular double bed but we got a room with a super king. Bedding was fresh as a daisy and the bed was really comfy. All this for £58 a night. No brekkie as we didn’t want one.

The location is very good and the room acceptable. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. There is only one concern I have and that is parking we stayed there in off season we did manage to get parking but there were only a few spaces left this would I feel be a problem during peak season. Apart from this concern we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room had a safe, ironing board, tea and coffee, it was small and being at the back of the hotel had no view. If I stayed there again I would ask for a sea view.

Class with historic style and view.

Staff were welcoming and professional. Pay the extra for the sea view it is magnificent! The pool is good and the gym well equipped although too small really for the kit. A lovely base to stroll into Torquay harbourside and town or for more energetic walks around coast path.
