We had never heard of Hotel Graben, although it's been there for over 100 years and we know Vienna fairly well. We had no idea what a nice hotel this is -- we just needed a place to stay for a night and searched for relatively low priced hotels near the center. It was a very pleasant surprise -- very classy hotel, with excellent service and a great breakfast.

Delightful

Quiet hotel. Extremely close to shops. Everything within walking distance. Red bus about 10 minute walk. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable room. Possibly only thing I'd add is coffee making facilities but not a hardship. Breakfast lovely, eat as much as you want. Nice Italian restaurant attached. We had a lovely weekend stay. I wd recommend.

So close to everything!

Even thought the room (single) was a bit small & awkwardly laid out with a view of only the buildings behind, the ease of getting to the hotel & as a base to go elsewhere more than compensated!! Breakfast is as filling as you need it to be but I found I wasn't able to access the OPEN wifi in their breakfast room (Italian restaurant by day) so planning could be cumbersome........ Stephansplatz IS the centre of Vienna with all the links needed. Most things are walkable from here but best use the transport to go to The Danube itself (took an hour to walk back after midnight) or further out Hotel is virtually opposite the highly rated Café Hawelka (coffee & cake) - always busy!! Be sure to remind them to refund the security deposit taken on your credit card - they remembered on prompting.
