We stayed at this hotel as it was for a special birthday and without any expectation they made my husband's birthday a day to be remembered with birthday cake and champagne. We were both very moved and can only find good things to say about this hotel and the friendly staff we dealt with.

The hotel whilst it is opulent, it is very comfortable and welcoming. The staff are warm and friendly. The location could not be better. A short walk or taxi from the train station and a central location with all sights, shops and restaurants very close by. Vienna is a stunning city, very classy with lots to see. The national history museum and the opera house stood out for us on our trip.

Gutted

Within a minute of attempting to book into the hotel, having supplied the requested passports and confirmation email printouts, we were informed that the hotel was terribly sorry but they had double-booked. Marvelous. As a consequence they booked us into an equivalent hotel (as far as they were concerned) and ushered us out to the taxi as quickly as possible, in spite of being told that this was a honeymoon anniversary - meh, who cares! Certainly not The Grand Hotel.
