After reading a few reviews i was a bit worried but i needn't have bothered. The location of this hotel is great, everything is within walking distance. The staff were amazing very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and hot. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening which was delicious and not expensive at all. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and tidy with everything you would need inc Hairdryer, Tea & Coffee etc. The views from the rooms at the back were amazing. Our room 303 was over looking the front which was OK. Wasn't noisy at all. The only negative is that the bar closes at 11pm and we felt this was a little early. Other than that this is an amazing place to stay and we will definitely be returning. I have already recommended the hotel to my friends and family

Facilities good and staff helpful

Pros: Very comfortable beds and plentiful hot water.
Cons: Slightly shabby in some areas.
Location: Pleasant location within walking distance of Lake Windermere and several good eating places close at hand. Also interesting shops.
We had very pleasant 3 nights bed and breakfast.We took our friends from Germany for their first visit to the Lake district and everything was very enjoyable except some times the weather !

Yes nice hotel however double room given too small

Pros: Staff being friendly nothing a concern and good location
Cons: Decor larger Tv when double room available and lower placed on wall An elevator would welcoming to get to floors
Location: Easy distance to local shops and eaterys good selection and close to lake for ferry travel
Room to small for purpose when you are tall person it was very cramped could not make use of shower facility small pokey shower could not get in cabinet However give staff credit on asking for change of room on checking family room was available This much better bigger space and wife and I could access shower with our disabilitys

Well situated between Bowness and Windermere.

The six of us met up for a reunion and all enjoyed ourselves. Only criticism was smallness of rooms, and only one chair. Very pleased with warmth and always hot water available.
