Muthu Clumber Park Hotel and Spa

Check in was OK however the receptionist advised me that theroom was pre-paid through Hotels.com (it wasn't - I had to clarify with another receptionist later in the evening after querying with Hotels.com). The room was dated but reasonably clean but took some finding with the inadequate directions I'd been given by Reception. The bathroom was in need of maintenance; the fixed shower wall attachment was loose, the shower head was connected to the mixer tap by a partially covered hose - the final 2 feet of the hose had been removed, leaving a very sharp edge (health and safety issue??), and the bathroom itself wasn't particularly clean (long black hairs in the bath and on the shower wall, I'm grey and short haired!) Restaurant service was initially good - greeted in good time and seated promptly. The server took my drinks order at 6:05pm, but the drink was not delivered until 6:40pm - at which time, my dinner order was finally taken. People coming into the restaurant after me (bearing in mind that I'd booked a table for 6pm) had orders taken prior to me and had food delivered before mine finally arrived. The food itself was mediocre at best.
