Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport Train Service

 

If you wish to travel to/from the airport by train there is a direct connection to Terminal T4 of the airport. This train service boasts connections to several of the most popular stations in Madrid, including Atocha, Chamartin, Nuevos Ministerios and Principe Pío.

 

 

Madrid Airport Bus

 

Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport is connected by coach services, and both city and intercity bus services.

 

City bus service 101 operates across Terminals 1, 2 and 3, stopping at both the arrival and departure stations at Terminals 1 and 2, and only stopping at arrivals at Terminal 3. After departing the airport the bus heads to the Canillejas Transport Hub, where further connections to intercity bus routes and the Madrid Metro system are available. Tickets are purchased on the bus.

 

An express bus service–the Linea Express 203—stops at Terminals 1, 2 and 4. Travelling from the city centre to the airport takes approximately 40 minutes using this service. Buses on this service are relatively frequent, operating once every 20 minutes during the day and every 35 minutes at night. Tickets are purchased on the bus.

 

The city bus service 200 stops at Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4. This service travels to the Avenida de América Transport Hub, where connections to city and intercity buses, and the metro network can be made.

 

If travelling from the airport to another city, there are coach services operating from Terminal 1 and Terminal 4.

 

 

Madrid Airport Metro

 

The metro line 8 connects all of the airport’s terminals to the Nuevos Ministerios station in central Madrid (a journey time of 12 minutes). Tickets can be purchased from machines at the metro stations, and the service operates from 06:00 to 01:00. Madrid Airport taxi

 

Like most major airports, Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas has a number of taxis available at ranks directly outside of the arrival terminals. This option is often the most convenient, but be aware that the price varies and the transport options listed above are likely cheaper.

 

Taxis may also be booked online: there are options to arrange a private car, or to share with other passengers if you’re on a budget. These services include a meet-and-greet as you arrive at the airport, but prior booking is required.

 

 

Car hire Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas

 

As expected, most of the more popular rental car companies such as Europcar, Avis and Hertz operate in the airport. Their offices can be found near arrival halls 1 and 2 in Terminal 1.
