Bremen Airport is located at Flughafenallee 20, approximately two miles south of downtown Bremen. The airport’s history dates back to the early 20th century, and it began its first test flights in the summer of 1910. Today, over fifteen airlines service the airport, including Air Berlin, Germanwings, Hamburg Airways, and Lufthansa, providing flights to over two million passengers per year.
The airport has two parking garages in front of the terminals—both offer long-term parking. Combined, the parking garages have 4,500 parking spaces, so it’s not hard to find an available parking spot. In both parking garages, Level 0 is reserved for women drivers. There are also parking spaces reserved for disabled travellers on Level 3 of the P1 parking garage and Level 0 of the P2 parking garage. It costs between €36 and €68.50 to park in the P1 parking garage for up to one week. The P2 parking garage is a little further away from the terminal, so it’s slightly cheaper; it costs between €36 and €53.50 for up to one week of parking.
If you don’t want to leave your car at the airport while you’re traveling, Tram Number 6 runs from the centre of the city to the airport every five to ten minutes. The ride costs €2.35 and lasts approximately eleven minutes. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from downtown Bremen to the airport for approximately €10. Depending on traffic, the cab ride can take up to twenty minutes.
Bremen Airport offers numerous dining options. The restaurants are located before the security checkpoints in the terminals and include Café D’oro, Punta Pasta, Cucina’s, Backerei Kamps, and Café-Russo. There aren’t any restaurants once you pass the security checkpoint at Bremen Airport; however, there are refreshment counters where you can purchase beverages and snacks.
Travellers taking advantage of flights to Barcelona Airport, will enjoy the convenience of its location - just 14 kilometres from the centre of Barcelona. It is Spain's second largest airport, behind Madrid. The airport is linked with the city by rail, bus and road. Travellers can use the aerobus services that run every 5 minutes and take around 35 minutes to reach the centre of Barcelona or the rapid bus that goes to Girona, Tarragona, Reus, Lleida and Figueres. There are train services every 30 minutes and the metro which does not run directly to the airport but is connected to rail and bus services.
Flights Barcelona mean access to the capital of Catalonia and its many attractions; from the stunning architecture of Gaudi to art galleries and museums. For a longer stay, outside the city there are beautiful sandy beaches and the picturesque Montserrat mountain range. One sight not be missed is the fabulous Sagrada Familia. Although unfinished, this cathedral is impressive and visitors can climb to the top for a good view of the inside of the cathedral and the carvings on the towers. Park Guell is another fine example of Gaudi's work but is best visited during the week in the summertime as it can become very crowded. The Fundacio Joan Miro houses the largest collection of the artist's work anywhere in the world. Only a small percentage of the works can be displayed at any one time but it is still a beautiful museum.
