What you can expect

Embark on a 2-day journey through Mexico City, accompanied by an expert guide. Explore the archaeological site of Teotihuacán, visit Guadalupe Shrine and the Frida Kahlo Museum, and take a boat ride on a trajinera on the UNESCO-listed Xochimilco canals.

Day 1: Tlatelolco, Guadalupe Shrine & Teotihuacán Pyramids Begin at Tlatelolco and learn about Mexico's 3 main historical periods: pre-Columbian, Spanish Colonial, and modern. Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, dedicated to Mexico's patron saint.

Explore the Teotihuacán archaeological site, the UNESCO-listed “birthplace of the gods” containing the Pyramid of the Sun, the 3rd-largest pyramid in the world. Climb the pyramid and walk along the 2.5 miles (4 km) Avenue of the Dead, admiring the snake-like carvings on the Temple of the Feathered Serpent.

Day 2: Coyoacán, National University, Frida Kahlo Museum & Xochimilco On the second day, walk along the cobblestone streets of Coyoacán before visiting Casa Azul, also known as the Frida Kahlo Museum. Visit a Cooperative Shop that helps the Mexican local artisans. Become immersed in the work of this prominent Mexican artist before checking out the National University of Mexico, built in 1551, hosting several murals by Diego Rivera. The Nahuatl word means “Place of Flowers.” Board a trajinera boat and cruise along the Aztec canal system that once connected pre-Columbian towns and villages.
