What you can expect

Tour starts with pick up at 0800hrs from hotel located in Udaipur city centre for excursion to KUMBALGARH- which is a 2 hours drive from Udaipur one way. The very inaccessibility of the fort of Kumbhalgarh ensured its security as a refuge for Mewar’s rulers in times of strife. It was built by the scholarly Rana Kumbha in the mid 15th century. The fort with its crenallated ramparts spreading over 36 kilometres encloses many palaces, temples, humble dwellings, fields, water sources, farms and kitchen gardens - everything needed to withstand a long siege. Kumbhalgarh fell only once in its history, to the armies of Emperor Akbar and this seige succeeded because the Mughals contaminated the water supply of the fort.

Witness Kumbhalgarh’s lovely domed palaces with beautiful suites, the temples of Nilkanth, Mahadeo and Kumbhaswami, the inevitable cenotaphs and a view over the rugged scrubby countryside which has seen the battles and blood of many lifetimes.

Being the birthplace of the legendary Maharana Pratap, the Kumbhalgarh fort also holds a very special place in history and in the hearts of the Rajputs. It is no doubt that Kumbhalgarh Fort is one of the best not only in Rajasthan but also the world and should be at least visited once in life.

After visit, proceed for Vegetarian lunch at one of oldest fort restaurant-Aodhi

Later proceed to Udaipur with transfer back to hotel in Udaipur city centre
