Your day starts with a tour through Basseterre, where Independence Square is one of the highlights with a cathedral, court house, and historic buildings. Basseterre has historically served as the entry port for the island and it continues to be the central location for business and travel.

Journey along a scenic coastal road to Romney Manor—home to Caribelle Batik with its sought-after designs and fabrics. Discover why Caribelle has earned an international reputation for fine products and take a stroll around the beautifully manicured gardens of this estate.

Brimstone Hill Fortress is your next stop. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered one of the best preserved forts in North and South America, this certainly feels like a step back in time. Walk the grounds where African slaves built and maintained the fortress and see evidence of the former military community of the 18th century.

Continue the tour around the island and pass Dieppe Bay—where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet. Watch how the waves roll up on the black-sand beach before driving through Dieppe Bay Town—the oldest town founded by Europeans in the eastern Caribbean.
