Brilliant stay! Our favourite hotel in York now. We stayed for 3 nights in a Deluxe Club with our 2yr old and there was plenty of room. We stayed in a Suite in the Edinburgh Malmaison and this room was much bigger. Amazing shower and a huge deep bath! We have stayed in a lot of hotels in various cities, several being in York, as we regularly come to visit family there, and this is by far the best one yet. Far better than supposedly higher-rated hotels. We had an issue on our first night which I flagged to reception the following morning at 7.30 am by message through the ebookers app and they literally were at our door with a solution within less than 10 minutes which was completely unexpected and very much appreciated! Breakfast is amazing! Probably one of the nicest ones I've had anywhere. Lots of choices on the buffet and lovely made-to-order cooked options. Huge restaurant, we never had to wait for a table and we were given a huge booth each morning, which allowed our overly energetic toddler, space to wander around without disturbing anyone and enabling us to enjoy our breakfast too. We had lunch one day in chez mal - cobb salad with chicken is lovely! Fries were delicious and the kids meal was huge. Really impressed. Location is brilliant, just 2 mins walk from museum gardens which are great for little ones and boat trips there too. Loads of nice restaurants nearby. Staff are delightful and couldn't do enough for you! Will be back.

We stayed in a family suit and it was fabulous, so luxurious and spacious, will definitely return. Robes, slippers, chocs, glass bottled water. Sky sports, Netflix, Nespresso machine, beautiful bathroom with separate toilet.

Unfortunately, overall this Malmaison just didn’t live up to others we have stayed at. The room was dusty when we checked in and this dust was easily disturbed even by moving the duvet when in bed. We opted for the eco friendly cleaning, which meant we only had it once in our 3 night stay. Which would have been fine if this was done properly. They did not replace any teabags, milk etc or even the toilet roll, meaning we had to find a housekeeper to get some toilet roll. The room remained dusty, the recycling which is asked to be left on the bed wasn’t collected and we weren’t given enough replacement towels. Overall, the room was slightly disappointing. There also didn’t seem to be enough staff on reception, meaning you waited a long time for ask a small query. The main areas of the hotel were lovely. The bar and reception area well looked after. We had fabulous treatments by Sophie and Trudi in the spa- highly recommend. But sadly the spa and Sora Bar are closed Monday and Tuesdays which were 2 of the 3 days we were staying- unfortunate timing but sad all the same. The location is great for seeing lots of York, close to the train station and the centre of York for lots of different attractions and food options.
