This highland valley lies a complex made up of temples, shrines, pagodas, and was once home of Kobo Daishi, founder of Shingon Buddhism. Stroll along the pathway between 1,300 century-old cedar trees to the Okunoin cemetery where you can see about 200,000 tombstones and statues.
