The shipyard's origins date back to the 16th century when it was established as a trading port. Over the centuries, it grew into one of the largest and most important shipbuilding centers in Europe. The history of the Danzig shipyard started 1844 when some area on both sides of the river Tote Weichsel at Danzig became property of the Royal Prussian Government. The shipyard complex itself is an expansive area encompassing docks, warehouses, cranes, and industrial buildings that reflect the architectural styles of different eras. While some structures have been restored and repurposed, others stand as historical reminders of the site's industrial past. Today, the Shipyard is not only a historical landmark but also a vibrant cultural centre. It houses museums, exhibitions, and memorial sites dedicated to preserving the memory of the Solidarity movement and its impact on Polish society. Visitors can explore the shipyard's rich history, learn about the struggles faced by workers, and gain insights into the shipbuilding industry.
Ulica Elektrykow

Electricians Street. Here, as the name suggests, were the electrical plants of the Gdańsk shipyard. The street leads to Hall B90, where components for tankers and bulk carriers used to be built. Today, B90 is a concert hall, one of the best-equipped in Poland. Electricians Street and Hall B90 form a unity, with the difference that concerts in B90 take place year-round, while Electricians Street operates mainly during the season. However, that's enough to have a great time for all eternity because the offering of Electricians Street is immense. Every weekend, there are DJ parties and outdoor concerts here. Crowds of people dance against the backdrop of shipyard cranes, with post-industrial areas all around, buildings and equipment that once served the shipyard workers. Such a landscape cannot be found anywhere else, and that alone is a reason worth visiting
