Take any fruit you like and make it a Christmas day treat with this Polish creation.

Ingredients & Method

500g Fresh, dried or frozen fruits of your choice as many varieties as you like, 4 litres water, 300g sugar

Bring sugar and water to the boil in a heavy saucepan, stirring until all the sugar has dissolved. Chuck in your fruits of choice, the larger or harder ones like apples and apricots should go first and soft berries can follow 10 minutes later. Let it simmer and then bring it back to the boil before cooling.
