Outdated & ridiculously overpriced, bad service

Pros: Location
Cons: Pricing strategy.Or adapt the services to include breakfast & be more generous with towels & pillows & add conditioner & better quality shampoo etc.
Location: Central. close to Nikolaiviertel and Alexanderplatz.
The so-called Business Room is a very simple standard room, which badly needs some updating. The price was ridiculous and the explanation at the desk was: 'it is a weekend with lots of fairs in Berlin so we significantly increased our prices'. I later checked online and the rate was double the regular rate - and breakfast still wasn't included! The facilities are all out of date and the shower is no luxury. It was clean though and it would all be acceptable at a REASONABLE rate (do not pay more than 90EU. However also shocking was: - they only provided one larger towel, which was still medium sized.. - only one pillow! The booking was for one guest but this has never happened to me before anywhere in the world. When I requested another pillow and towel, the receptionist responded by saying: 'well the booking was for one person.. [why would you want more..?]' It was a hot summer night & I arrived with a cough and the A/C was very strong in the room. I called the night portier and he said that he cannot turn off A/C for one room. The next morning I wake up having completely lost my voice and go to the reception mentioning this. The receptionist says that the air-conditioning could have been turned off and proceeds to lecture me on how to turn it off (their A/C is definitely from the last century..). When I mention my unhappiness with the services so far of the hotel, the receptionist offers my a free cocktail at the bar - which I decline being SICK and all..!!!!!

Short city break

Hotel was in an ideal position to explore the city. Many of the attractions were within walking distance. U bahn station is next to the hotel for longer trips. Room size is generous and comfortable. Free beer and water (two bottles of each) provided each day. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

weekend with love of my life

I had amazing time in Berlin and the hotel. I will never forget this and all was absolutely amazing !!! 5 starts for everything. Location, room size , service , food all was absolutely top. Great value for money guys. And so easy to travel and find the place and it does not feel like it was in City centre at all. So quite and comfortable. Would recommend to every couple as romantic trip. Berlin itself is fantastic as well esp. for your people :-) Highly recommend !!!

Very comfortable stay

Very good sized room and very clean. Not much in the way of pubs or restaurants in the immediate area, but quite central for the sights. We walked to most of them, though the underground station was just outside if you prefer to use the train. Breakfast was pricey at 16 Euros so we went to café down the street for scrambled eggs. Very pleasant overall.

Good location for Cathedral, historic centre and underground

Hotel was good and staff friendly. However there is no air conditioning and the room was hot. We opened the window at night but it was noisy as we were on the first floor. Breakfast expensive at 16€ each but two bottles of beer and two bottles of water a day free was good.
