review of 4 star rating and re vamping needed

Pros: loved the decked area at the back with stunning views and the walkway down to the shore.
Location: beautiful location, slightly spoiled by housing estate next door. good base for exploring connemara.
stayed with my sister for 1 night. had requested twin room when booking. when we got to room discovered it was a double. staff at reception were very pleasant and dealt with problem but it took 3/4 hour before we got to new room. from the moment of entering the hotel up the front steps there was an air of shabbiness about the hotel. it looked faded and in need of an injection of life and vitality.in the first room allocated to us the two lanmpshades were cracked along the bases , not to be expected in a 4 star hotel. food was ok but not spectacular and restaurant staff seemed to be on another time zone! the situation of this hotel is stunning but the overall impression is one of an aging lady who is in need of a make over. overpriced for what we experienced and a major quibble.... we were charged 3 euro for a sunday paper! i have never been charged for a paper in a hotel before.

Very Comfortable Hotel

Pros: The comfort and the food and friendly staff. Situation was awsome with sea views
Cons: Cant think of a thing
Location: Locatio is brillia t right on the ocean. Also close to Salthill and Spiddel
Connemara Coast is a very comfortable and relaxed hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is fab, delicious and varied and they cater for special diets. It is beside the ocean with sea views and walks by the sea. There are a lot of secluded seating areas in the hotel where you can relax with a book or the paper which I loved. Myself and my sister had a beautiful message in a warm and relaxed room. It was lovely and a real treat. It is close to Salthill and Spiddel. Wiuld highly recommend Connemara Coast Hotel.

Location: Wonderful views over the Atlantic Ocean. You would need a car and travel some distance to do anything.
Our room was very comfortable. The food was good so we had no complaints at all.
