Warm welcome from small hotel. Slightly out of the way which I liked. Plenty of eating places close by. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast, kettle in room very useful. Good size rooms, cleaned with fresh towels daily. Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

perfect location

this is the third time we have stayed here and as normal, the room was clean and everything was great. it is a perfect location for us just outside the capital, but with easy access to everywhere

Warm, comfy, cheap

It's very warm, which was good for warming up and drying our wet things in the ever changing Icelandic weather. It's also spacious and comfortable with plenty of hot water and a decent shower. It's adequately clean and is good for the price. Staff/organisation seem a bit slapdash although they were nice - we weren't given much information and there is no info in the rooms about wifi - I just thought I had been mistaken in thinking there was wifi till one of our group heard someone else being told a password verbally. I also thought the website said food was served in the bar but we were told this is not something they do and as weren't in the city, all that was available was Subway or KFC across the road - not what we came all the way to Iceland to eat! There were also lots of organisational issues with booking tours etc through the hotel. Overall, it was fine but I wouldn't stay here again.

convenient and quiet

just 10 minutes from the centre of Reykavik this hotel is easy to find, clean and comfortable. would prefer more than just three channels on the TV but as you spend very long in the room didn't matter that much

nice four days away

Staff friendly, room spacious with lovely views over the mountains. Breakfast is continental, only negative thing about this hotel was at the front of hotel you thought you were in a trading estate, with a drive through KFC a subway and a petrol station a big supermarket and other shop outlets. There is a bus stop right outside hotel which will take you into Reykjavik, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes (no 15) and you have a 10 to 15 minute walk to the harbour.coming back from harbour outside grayline excursions get no 6 straight back to hotel. Have correct change 350 krona each as drivers don't give change, which we found out to our expense

Not as expected

We booked the laxnes as we wanted to see the northern lights & thought we would have more chance out in the country. This hotel is not in the country. The photo is taken from the KFC car park next door! When it says it's 15-20 mins into Reykjavik, it is actually 35 mins by bus & the buses aren't as regular on the weekends. Also, only one tour company picks up from there, it's too far out for the others so you have to get a bus into Reykjavik to get your tour which makes for very long days!

Great location

Friendly, helpful staff particularly the Manager; modern clean hotel and about 20 minutes outside Reykjavik. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the mountain - tho sadly our weather was dire.

Sur classement, donc c'est toujours agréable. Une propreté impeccable. Très calme malgré la proximité de la ville
