First impressions of Banica were not great as we walked up a dirty staircase with an open front door to the building with a bin at the bottom of the stairs. Building was very central in palace area. Room felt a little tired compared to our first accommodation in Split The glass in the door to balcony was cracked and there was no key to lock this door but think it would be difficult for anyone to break in. The main door to the building remained open all night long which felt unsafe and the street noise echoed throughout the building - there was no trouble however. We had a safe but no instructions on how to operate so we ended up having to ring staff up to ask how to use. Adrian seemed pleasant enough but didn't explain how things worked and unfortunately dashed off before we realised there was no manual for using the safe. Freebies in fridge and coffee pods/tea were a really nice touch. Great bathroom with plenty of hot water. Roof terrace fantastic -actually there were two!! Again upstairs there were gadgets for our use but no manuals/instructions on how to use - this place could be fabulous with a little more care and attention.

paras mahdollinen sijainti

Pros: Hotellin sijainti on paras mahdollinen! Huoneet ovat siistit ja kodikkaat ja henkilökunta todella avuliasta, ystävällistä ja palvelualtista!
Cons: ?
Location: Vanha kaupunki ja sen kapeat kujat ovat parasta Splitiä ja Banica on parhaalla paikalla, aivan kulman takana upeasta Diocletianuksen palatsista.
Jo toista kertaa tässä hotellissa! Kun matkankohde on mielenkiintoinen ja majoitus valinta osuu näin kohdalleen, on helppo nauttia lomasta ja tuntea olonsa todella kodikkaaksi. Tulemme varmasti vielä takaisin ja todellakin samaan hotelliin.

Susanna and thank you for your great review. We will be glad to host you again! I'd just like to fix one of the general misconceptions about the Diocletians palace, to help other guests too... We are located INSIDE the palace, right in the middle of it :) Palace is/was huge (120m x 120m) and surrounded with walls. During last 1700 years, inhabitants teared down some buildings and built houses /streets so it's not immediately obvious what the palace is. Now it is "center of the center" of the old town. Recognized by mostly preserved outside walls and 4 main palace gates in them.
