What you can expect

Pretty Alpine villages hide amongst towering peaks in the area surrounding Munich. Admire the scenic beauty of the Bavarian Alps on your way to Austria’s Salzburg, famed as the birthplace of Mozart. Pass crystal-clear lakes, including Mondsee, made famous by The Sound of Music.

Marvel at the indisputable natural allure of the Alpine mountain ranges. The fresh air is scented by pine forests, while deep blue lakes reflect the dramatic landscape of towering mountains. Pass Lake Chiemsee, also known as “The Bavarian Sea”, a favourite holiday destination for Germans.

Your first stop is Salzburg, an enchanting city in neighbouring Austria, widely renowned as the birthplace of Mozart. Enjoy leisure time here to explore its charming historic centre – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – at your own pace. Soak up the relaxing, elegant atmosphere in traditional cafés. Browse delightful boutiques for a perfect holiday souvenir or climb up to the Hohensalzburg Castle for a breathtaking panorama.

Just from Apr Oct: Before returning to Munich, stop by Wolfgangsee, where green mountains seem to drop into the deep blue lake and where you have the opportunity to go for a short cruise. Pass Mondsee as well, a place made famous by the 1959 musical The Sound of Music.

In winter we have a longer stay in Salzburg
