What you can expect

Enjoy a fabulous day tour from Split to Mostar. Mostar is undoubtedly the most beautiful city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

From Split, our tour to Mostar tour heads down to the UNESCO site of Pocitelj, Bosnia. The fortified town of Pocitelj contains a few scattered homes and cafes, a beautiful mosque, a tower and a citadel, surrounded by the remains of a city wall.

We soak in the byzantine and Ottoman architecture and local market. In 1996, Pocitelj was added to the list of the world’s 100 most endangered cultural heritage sites, by the World Monuments Watch – so Pocitelj is definitely worth a visit on this Split day trip.

Mostar is famous for the impressive Ottoman–style bridge spanning the Neretva river, which was destroyed during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina but subsequently rebuilt.

During our Split to Mostar tour you will see that there are still many poignant reminders of the legacy of that war in the street art and damaged buildings to be found around the city of Mostar, but you will also be impressed by the wonderful spirit of local people in Mostar and its dramatic beauty.

The buzz of the local bazaar in Mostar offers a great shopping opportunity and you might be lucky enough to witness daredevil diving from the Mostar bridge during the season.

We also visit the Blagaj Tekija monastery on this tour. The Blagaj Tekija was built around 1520, with elements of Ottoman and Mediterranean style architecture and is now considered a national monument in Bosnia. The Blagaj Tekke is a monastery built specifically for the many Dervish cults of the area around Mostar, Bosnia. A must see on this Split to Bosnia day tour and we provide a short tour of the monastery.
