What you can expect

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the Valley of the Temples is one of Sicily’s most famous historical attractions. Wander amongst the ruins of the Temples of Hercules, Juno and Jupiter and see the impressive Temple of Concord, a well-preserved structure built around 440-450 BC.

Hop aboard your coach and drive through the beautiful Sicilian countryside to reach the Valley of the Temples. Located outside the town of Agrigento, your guide introduces you to this archaeological site, an important example of the ancient art and architecture of Greater Greece.

Stroll through old ruins and relics as you learn about the history and development of the temples. The valley includes the remains of 7 temples in Doric style that are constructed entirely from tuff sandstone.

From beneath an olive tree, you can admire the Temple of Concord, one of the most impressive temples to survive from ancient Greece after the Parthenon in Athens. Its largely intact structure is probably due to its conversion into a Christian church in 597 AD.

Continue your experience exploring a renowned Roman villa located just outside the small town of Piazza Armerina, “Villa Romana del Casale”. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this beautiful villa holds the richest and largest collection of Roman mosaics in the world.
