Peace and privacy

Pros: Privacy, parking, central location for the places we wanted to explore.
Cons: Bigger plates, saucepans and more provision for cooking. But for the price we have no complaints.
Location: Shops and town 5 minute drive away and the Velodrome about 10 minutes.
We spent a week in the caravan at Villa Shakespeare, having chosen it for it's central location which enabled us to visit both coasts and the Coromandel Peninsula on "days out". We also visited movie set Hobiton, which is just a 25 minute drive away, and the caves at Wiaimoto. Auckland is within range for a day-trip too. The caravan was clean and comfortable and sits in a private corner of the garden on a pleasant lawn. We parked the car right outside the caravan door with the blessing of Hilary and Jeremy, who made us very welcome whilst also respecting our wish for independence and privacy. We both slept well on the two comfortable single beds, but didn't try the pull-out double. The cooker in the caravan is not hooked up to a gas supply, but has 1 electric ring. A toaster, kettle, and microwave and tea and coffee were provided. WIFI was good, and electric heating provided. Good shower and a surprisingly effective caravan toilet. All in all we considered the caravan to be superb value for money and will be encouraging our visiting relatives to consider a stay here when exploring NZ.
