Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is a major hub of air travel in the south-western United States. Located five miles east of downtown Phoenix at 3400 East Sky Harbor Boulevard, this bustling port accepts flights from most major domestic and international carriers, including Aeromexico, Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, South-west, United, and US Airways.
Public transportation to and from PHX is easy and convenient, as the area's intercity METRO light rail runs near the north end of the airport at Washington Street and through the cities of Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa. A single-ride fare will cost $1.75 until March 1, 2013, when it is scheduled to rise to $2. The airport's rental car centre is in its own building at 1805 East Sky Harbor Circle South and has refreshments available at the Fresh Gourmet to Go store, located right past the rental offices. Brands available here include Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Fox, Hertz, National, Payless, and Thrifty. These vendors stay busy, so making advance arrangements with ebookers is recommended.
