Week in NYC

This is a busy hotel, and at times the reception is manic particularly if there a convention being held there. But it does the job and the rooms are clean and tidy, staff are pleasant so no complaints. It is also in a great location for Times Sq, Theatre District and Central Park. We would stay there again.

Great family vacation

Hotel is in a great location central to many of the tourist spots. One drag was that free wi fi only available in the hotel lobby. Hotel charges $14 a day for up to three devices if you want wi fi in your room. It's a very popular hotel so is always heaving with guest all day long.

When we arrived

First as soon as we arrived they said we don't seem to have that room available, do you want to upgrade. No, so they eventually found a room on level 6, the room was dark as we were close to an office building. The 4 No lifts were very slow arriving either at the ground level or 6th level. When our flight was cancelled by BA, they organised an additional night stay (obviously at a cost) it was sorted with ease. Its position in New York Times Sq was good and for that reason only I would recommend it.

Enjoyed it! however….

While the hotel seems good, its very clean an fairly well appointed, I couldn't help the feeling your just another gear in the great wheel of profit, However we did have a fridge delivered to the room to which the delivery person left the door ajar, which I'm sure is fine if the room is being cleaned but not when theres a substantial value of camera equipment in the room, I took it up with the reception manager who told me the matter would be investigated immediately, Didn't hear any more after that, The one great feature of this hotel is its location, its very easy to get almost anywhere if you know the subway system, I would definitely stay here again despite the issue with our door being left open,

Excellent location

Staff were fantastic & friendly we was given free wifi & made a saving of 104 dollars. Due to exploring we never did get to spend time in the hotel however we did use the club house which is very good value for your money. Only downfall was the cleaner we had she was very friendly but not clean at all..!! Other than that I can't fault it at all..!!

Great location

Alex in reception checked us in. He was great! Room was comfortable however, the bath was tiny. We were offered complimentary mineral water but every single day had to ring down for it to be replenished, inlcudi speking directly with the housekeeping manager. We asked the maid 3 days running in a note. They took the tip but never replaced our water. Great hotel, with lovely staff and a fantastic location, but the housekeeping leaves little to be desired.

Long weekend

The hotel is ideally located for mid-town Manhattan, right next to 53rd/7th Subway station on the B,C,D line and 5 mins walk from 50th/Broadway 1,2,3 line. The club room we had on the 44th floor offered a king size bed, sofa, small table, and dresser. Along with embedded LED TV. Complimentary coffee and water was included with the room, and also a safe/iron & ironing board was in the wardrobe. The onsuite bathroom was functional but could be improved with an extractor fan and higher water pressure in the shower. We paid for the club lounge access, and this was worth every penny, with complimentary breakfast, and snacks at lunchtime and teatime, with coffee, water and snack bars provided throughout day allowed us to breakfast in comfort (although the lounge was busy at the weekend) for no extra cost, beyond the upgrade. Also included was free wifi in lounge, and the provision of a passcode that allowed free wifi in your room as well. If you don't have wifi connectivity, there were also computer terminals available. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful with information about the hotel and New York in general. Getting to and from the airport via Yellow Cab was a fixed price $52.50 + $5.33 toll (+ tip) and cabs were obtained with no problems. The journey time was about an hour. If I were to go back, would I stay at the Sheraton again, yes I would.

Average

Hotel was situated in a very good location on Times Square, Initial reactions were very good, lobby was very attractive. Check in was smooth only a 5 minute wait. Our room was on floor 28 with a poor view of high rise buildings. We were not impressed with housekeeping it was very hit and miss, sometimes you received your full quota of towels, coffee, milks etc and sometimes you would receive nothing. Overall a reasonable hotel, but I have stayed in much better Shearton hotels elsewhere.
