Minorca features a number of convention centres situated around the island, but the Menorca Convention Bureau is the largest. Many of Minorca's hotels also feature convention and event areas, with both indoor and outdoor options available. The Hotel Menorca Patricia and the Barcelona Pueblo Menora are the largest of these, with room for up to 374 guests.
Minorca's dining scene is widely varied, and many of Minorca's hotels have small restaurants, pubs and cafés nearby. Some of island's more popular restaurants include the Biosphere Restaurant Na Macaret, the San Nasa in Fornells, Boomerang, and Rta La Isla.
Minorca is not rich in fashion or chain stores, although the island does have a few international stores in the cities. The best things for tourists to purchase include the locally made sandals known as avarcas and costume jewellery. The Mao Mahon Markets are also a must see, and are held throughout Mahon on different days of the week.
Many hotels in Minorca can direct visitors to a travel guide, which is sometimes necessary due to the size of the island. However, most travellers choose to visit one of the beaches such as the Cala Mitjana or the Cala Macarelletta, the Cap de Cavaliera for the views, the Monte Tora or the Es Grau.
Minorca's football team only plays friendly matches, but can be seen playing throughout the year. Minorca is bigger on tourist sports including swimming, hiking, horseback rides and boating, all of which can be experienced at various places throughout the island, but especially in Mao.
