Good hotel but careful of staff

Location: The bus nearby was convenient to take you to the main station. Restaurants near the hotel were expensive so find a place in side roads near station.
The room was well furnished and clean. Breakfast was a good selection of continental food which also included lots of pastries and cakes. However the hotel reception staff were not always helpful.

Hotel experience

At our arrival we were given a ground floor room .The next morning due to a water leak on the wash basin we were given an other room at the same floor but rather small for two persons. The day after we requested a roomier one but the hotel was fool Otherwise the staff was kind and helpful

Friends trip

It was okay. It was not in the city centre but was close to. The staff was not the best but it was also okay.

City break

Tired , roof garden needs attention, staff rude, a 30 minute bus ride into city not 1-2 km as stated in hotel info, breakfast poor, no amenities close by, no facilities to get drink in hotel

Served its purpose

The best thing about this hotel is the bus stop which is meters away. We only took a taxi once to the hotel from the Termini when we arrived in Rome and did not know the bus routes. After that we thoroughly relied on the buses. The staff is not very helpful, hotel needs updating, food average. Staff seem unconcerned about their bad reputation and do little to improve it. Towels and bed linen though were changed daily. Bottom line is it was the cheapest hotel available and serves its purpose.

Roman Holiday

This hotel is at best a poor three star but really only deserving two stars. Certainly not four star. Almost no amenities. Poorly cited (no restaurants nearby) and no hotel restaurant.

Grand Hermitage Hotel

Good points 1.Nice people at reception. 2.Relatively cheap. 3.Near a bus stop with access to Rome centre. 4.Located in a posh neighbourhood so its safe. Bad points 1.Hotel in need of updating. One of our room had a cracked floor in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling off the wall, a TV that should be in the Colasseum(it was that old). TV remote had no batteries, no windows in the room, air con was struggling, shower hose was broken. 2.Poor quality breakfast. If you are diabetic, look elsewhere because everything on the breakfast menu is not suitable for you. All full of sugar and butter. Some apples were old and 'shrivelled' and a plum I picked was damaged. Cooked breakfast not available. 3..No basic tea/coffee making facility in the room. 4. Free internet not reliable. Keeps cutting in and out.

Nice hotel on the outskirts - good value

The hotel itself is a little bit outside the city centre, you can take the bus to "Muse" , the final stop on the line from the termini station, which takes between 20 and 30 minutes, but the buses are few and far between in the evenings with no timetables available either. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming, but there are a lot of school groups staying at the hotel and I found it rather noisy, even though I was given a different room after my first sleepless night. The buffet for the breakfast was not very well stocked if you arrived later in the mornings. The school groups make it not very nice for an individual traveller. My overall experience was pleasant though, good value for money.

pleasant stay

this hotel is probably not 4 star worthy, but it still a decent hotel. I was a little aprehensive after reading some of the reviews. I found on arrival most of the reviews were written by drama queens and clearly people who expect the world from their hotels. this hotel was clean and tidy, welcoming and all the staff i encountered were polite, helpful and multi lingual. They ordered me a taxi on several occasions as i do not speak italian, with a smile each time. the room was a bit small, but it served its purpose, somewhere to store my clothes, shower and sleep. the air conditioning worked fine everyday i was there. it is a little bit far out from most of the sites to be walking to as i found on one trip back after a long day of site seeing. there is a metro link near by or a taxi cos me around 12 euros to get to the trevi fountain. other than its location this hotel was more than adequate, i would reccomend it to anyone whos looking for somewhere to sleep

I liked the pastries and donuts they served on the breakfast, but other than that I can't think of anything else I liked about the hotel. It was ok since I only really slept there, but the toilet wasn't working properly also the shower was bad. They did not have proper air conditioning in the room. The hotel had not really kept up with time, maybe it had been a 4 star hotel in the 90's but not in today's standards.
