Some of the staff are very friendly. But sometimes the staff can just stand about chatting rather then being attentive and clearing away dishes after the person had left which results in insects. Examples: My drink which was handed to me had three ants inside and on on the outside of the glass which could only have come from the bar counter or serving tray. At breakfast the salad had been left uncovered and as covered in flies. On both occasions staff were standing about and both of these could have been avoided with a bit of care and attention. The Governor Suite was very nice and clean.

Amazing!

Stunning hotel with really friendly staff! The buffet breakfast was included in the price I paid and I was impressed with the selection every morning. The onsite restaurant is also delicious, more than you would pay in town but worth it in my opinion! The hotel is walkable to and from the town but it is quite far, I didn't find this a problem though as they provide a regular free shuttle which I used on many occasions! Absolutely would reccomend this hotel to anyone staying in ubud looking for a bit of luxury, the only problem you might have is deciding which of the 5 beautiful pools you want to take a dip in each day!

Great for me

I didn't want to be stuck In ubud as I was visiting a friend in the middle of the island daily... the hotel provided me with a reasonably priced driver daily, and so the relaxing afternoons by the pool were perfect for me. The staff couldn't do enough to help and the room was very comfortable. I think I got a great deal, and for the price, I would highly recommend.

Great funky hotel, something different

The hotel is an experience. Huge, but you barely meet anyone so feels very cozy and peaceful there. Nice swimming pools, however, we did not manage to get a swim due to being out all day long. We were first put in a room at the very end, near the gallery, where the guys started works early in the morning...it woke us up of course. Also, the internet did not work there. When asked, they gave us another room which was better for us. What I loved about both rooms was the bathroom. Huge bath tub, rainshower. We had a dinner at their restaurant the first night. The menu had a lot of international dishes so we had to ask for their lunch menu as we only wanted to eat local food. The restaurant was absolutely empty...apparently everyone else was in the town. We had some springrolls, which were nice, fried rice dish the name I cannot remember (was ok only), then fried duck which was a total disapointment. It was so dry and crisp, we could not cut it with a knife. When we asked the waitress to cut it for us, she simply provided us with a knife (yes, a knife) Maybe it's good there was no other guests in the restaurant as we ate the duck with our hands... The next night we were eating in town: better food at a fraction of the hotels price. The other problem was the staff could not understand English well. The breakfast was good, same selection every morning but nothing to complain about. Nice service, too. The hotel provides a shuttle to town centre which is great. But you can always get a taxi We did not use the spa as it was very expensive to compare with outside. You can get a massage in town for 8-10dollars for 60min. And a good one. I would recommend this hotel as it was so different to all other hotels. It was beautiful and peaceful. We got huge discount on this site so it was worth the price. Next time I might check the hotels walking distance to town - this one was 15min drive away

Schöne ruhige Hotelanlage

Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Die Anlage ist gross, mit verschiedenen Pools, und die zimmer sind schön eingerichtet. Es gibt mehrmals täglich einen Shuttlebus ins Zentrum von Ubud und wieder zurück. Das Morgenbuffet hat mich micht überzeugt! Da gibts sicher Besseres in der Umgebung. Einmal assen wir à la carte zu Mittag dort, was leider wirklich nicht fein war.

Very nice pools

We loved the food in the hotel, the salmon wss very good. The service was excellent, they organised our boattrip to gilli.

très bon séjour

Accueillis des l'arrivée par le manager français qui prodigue de très bons conseils, très beau site, zen et calme, le parc ainsi que les piscines sont superbes, très en harmonie avec la région, un service de navette fait le trajet hotel-centre d'Ubud toutes les 2h, parfait! Une note toute particulière à l'ensemble du personnel très poli, souriant et serviable! ... Il manquait juste un petit coffre fort dans notre chambre... Allez y les yeux fermés pour passer un agréable séjour !
