Room was very dated. Headboard thick in dust, wallpaper pealing off the walls and damp. Well over priced. Only had two plug sockets one for tv and one for kettle. Worst hotel ever stayed in.

The hotel is in dire need of a make over, the carpets were thread bare and the hotel smelt very old and musty. Also no food available, having to walk across town with 2 kids to find food, not an enjoyable experience.

Unclean public areas. Dirty towels left on stairs from when we arrived to when we left. Rubbish in the lift the same. Room smelt of smoke.

I chose to stay here because of the hotel towers over the sea by the pier. The owners Brittannia could do so much to improve it. Apart from filling and painting rust ringed holes in walls whose fittings have been removed, it's the training of staff which might make most difference. Why is a VAT receipt not something which can be printed before 8am on Checkout morning? Why is there dirt which is not being cleaned in the bathrooms? Come on Brittannia, you owe it to the Grand to get it back to its glory days.
