Beach front hotel needs some TLC !!

Pros: Friendly staff , bfast .
Cons: Refurb the hotel keeping the lovely old decor !!
Location: My husband visited zipworld .. longest zipwire in Europe ... we went on the tram .. which was lovely , and the great orme showed stunning scenery .
Booked this hotel as the location looked good, very central in LLandudno , next to the beach and pier. Hotel was ok , shame really as it is an old hotel and could be fab if it as refurbished properly. The room as ok , clean but needed refurb, Bathroom was ok but again shower needed refurb. Bfast was good , with lots of choice. All staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a nightmare !! I knew before we went that this was a potential issue but it was an issue every day ,,, had to park 15 mins away when we arrived and had to rescue the car later in the evening, If you have an issue with walking then I would not recommend this hotel, However , Llandudno itself was lovely , well kept seaside , some good restaurants . Glad we visited , will go back .

Excellent location but tired hotel

Pros: Excellent room layout with a double and single bed in one room and another single bed in an adjacent bedroom perfect for our teenage son.
Cons: Renovate the floorboards albeit a mammoth task it would be worth it!
Location: Right on the pier with lovely views of the sea and close to shops and amenities.
As a family we enjoyed our stay at the Grand and it has clearly been a fabulous place but it is very tired and the noisy floorboards are a problem when the people in the adjacent or above rooms choose to walk round late at night and early in a morning. I also recommend that a polite notice be placed above the TV's for guests to be mindful of other guests as this was also an issue from the neighbouring room thin walls and loud TV. I was ready for home after 3 nights and probably wouldn't stay any longer we were shattered. Also the bathroom wasn't clean there was thick dust on the tiles and the loo was loose. But lots of lovely clean towels and very comfy bed.

FOR WHAT YOU PAY A GOOD HOTEL

I traveled solo and stayed at the grand many times, it is what it is for £36 for B&B on a Friday night with entertainment its a good deal.

Extremely poor

We booked this hotel for our 28th wedding anniversary as we love Llandudno. We were very disappointed with the hotel and we paid over £100 per night room only. This hotel could be wonderful but needs a lot of time and attention spent on it to bring it back to life would never stay there again
