Nice hotel with beautiful lobby. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. No tea or coffee facilities in the room which was a real disappointment for me. The bathroom was clean but needs refurbishment as old and in need of attention. Staff were helpful and friendly. Fantastic location ...

We loved the view from our room, the breakfast was good and it was in an ideal location. Room could have been a better standard, leaking sink, missing shower curtain, no water or ice on the floor despite being stated.

The front was being refurbished - but aside from aesthetically it didnt impact the visit. The SMS after I checked in was a really good touch.

Great location near Central park, street view from room was good but windows had absolutely no noise soundproofing and we had some disturbed sleep as the street noise is amplified to the higher floors. Staff were great and the roof bar is really nice but quite expensive.

What you need to know about Central Park hotels

Central Park hotels are dotted all around the famous green spaces and ponds of this garden in the heart of Big Apple. Housed in steel-clad skyscrapers and Art Deco high-rises, they are every inch the sort of accommodation you'd expect from this part of bustling Manhattan. They range from the affordable American guesthouses of the Upper West Side to the uber-luxurious 5-star hotels of Central Park South, where iconic resorts are heralded by chandelier-lit lobbies and suited door staff.

What you can expect from Central Park hotels in New York

The style of Central Park hotels in New York depends entirely on what part of this vast district you opt to bed down in. You can book some of the most opulent and palatial places to stay in the whole Big Apple by searching ebookers for the famous resorts around 59th Street – those come with rooftop cocktail lounges, indoor spas and elegant Art Deco architecture. Meanwhile, the other end of the spectrum includes simple loft rentals or hostel dorms, along with hotels near Central Park, up in the quieter reaches of south Harlem.

Top things to do in Central Park

One real benefit of choosing a hotel near Central Park is that it puts you within striking distance of some of the most iconic sights and Things to Do in the Big Apple. Not only does Central Park itself beckon with ice skating rinks by winter and pretty walks by summer, but it's also surrounded by the likes of Carnegie Hall and the American Museum of Natural History. Meanwhile, world-class shopping erupts down Madison Avenue, and the blockbuster shows of Broadway take over just to the south.

Food and drink in Central Park

Because this iconic district puts you right in the beating heart of Manhattan, it's likely you can expect to find everything from all-American burger diners to Michelin-starred French bistros just a few blocks from your Central Park hotel. New York cuisine really comes to life in the gastronomy here, as bona fide Neapolitan pizza kitchens mingle with Korean dumpling houses and innovative New Nordic cuisine to create a veritable kaleidoscope of dining options. And nightlife? Just wait for the microbreweries and Irish pubs, the trendy cocktail joints and 1930s speakeasies.

                  Getting around Central Park

Precisely because Central Park is a park, it's easy to walk around and navigate. You can stroll all the way from Harlem in the north to 59th Street in the south, and go from the East Side to the Upper West Side with ease. However, if you want to flit between places quickly, it might be a good idea to hop aboard the New York Metro system, which has stops all over the west side of the park. Alternatively, a classic yellow cab could be a good idea.
