Gorgeous Main building, however you will nit be in this building for any of your stay. You stay in a separate area on the side of the building, rooms are very small, with a poor tv and tiny bathroom with only a shower. Thank god they had air conditioning though. We used the pool which was a nice addition to our stay but the changing facilities smelt strongly of urine and made it unbearable to stay in there. We had pizza for dinner in the restaurant which looked like a basic £1 frozen pizza heated with pepperoni added. Staff were brilliant however and the hotel are lucky to have them. We stayed in the premier in the next night and had an overall much better half the price experience. This hotel is way over priced.

Room was terrible so small! Staff couldn’t care less, not the best experience. Never even asked why I we decided to checkout a day early!

Hotel is very grand. Looks like it has been recently refurbished and to a very high standard. My room (47) was small but very clean, all new décor, furnishings, etc, modern but a twist of luxury/traditional in touch with the surroundings, so I thought it went well with the whole ambience. I prefer boutique hotels, so although this is a well recognised chain, this hotel creates a totally different mix of established brand with the uniqueness of an old country house. My only slight criticism is that the hallways were extremely cold and the pool area was strange. This is why not all scores were excellent. I had trouble opening the pool door with the key card that you obtain from reception. There was nothing to inform you that you obtained access to the pool area with a key card only available at reception, which is the other end of the hotel, so a good few minutes walk. The only notice is on the door at the pool, so I had to walk back to reception to get a key. I went back to the pool and the key would not work,again back to reception. I went back to the pool with a member of staff, my key let me in, but not other guests who were also trying to gain access . The pool area was nice-requires some attention for cleanliness, my main area of concern was the unisex changing room. Although there was cctv in the pool, so felt safe, I did not feel safe in the changing room, a lone female with 2 male guests that I did not know. There wasn't a problem, but a potential risk
