Rooms are desperately in need of renovation. Peeling paintwork around windows, scratched headboards, mouldy and dusty bathrooms. Staff did say they were going to be renovated, but no consolation to current guests. Beds very good and nice bedlinen & towels.

Staff were great but the room suffered from m&e issues making it impossible to sleep.

Having made my booking in July my husband was advised there was no reservation for us & that was that I was parking car so he had to wait until I arrived with booking confirmation to queue once again at reception. I showed the clerk our reservation she asked if I had just booked today I said no booked in July she looked searched then found our reservation no apology at all not a good start!! We only stayed as very early flight so did not have breakfast we left at 4.30am it is very close to Newcastle airport you can walk across so for that it is good.
