Hotel is not clean and dusty we have checked in and went to the room was no clean at all so we had to request to change our room second is that okay but it was not clean. I would not go back to this hotel again and I wouldn’t recommend

A Very pleasant place

Pros: Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Location: Very close to Tourist attractions, lots of places nearby to eat in.
The Hotel Staff are fabulous, always at hand to help out. Our booking requests were fulfilled as requested. Hotel is very close to Sultanahmet Mosque and other tourist attractions, very safe place to stay. My elderly mother along with my kids had no problems getting out and about. The hotel has a nice unique touch to it. Breakfast was plentiful both hot and cold. Good service from the Breakfast team.

Avicenna Hotel December 2013

Good location near the Blue mosque and the T1 tram line and within walking distance of the other major tourist sites. Bit shocked that a cup of tea in the room was extra and you will need to cough up some coppers if you want anything other than bread and cereal at breakfast. My girlfriend was told she could have an apple by the waiter then after walking to the fruit bowl told it was extra. Cant complain too much though as everything else was good. Rooms are small, but who goes on a city break and spends the day in their hotel room?

City break

Good clean hotel in a v good location but not a four star. Rooms are tiny and cramped. Service is average. Decent breakfast if you like Turkish breakfast. Only one iron in the whole hotel! Staff didnt know which room had it when we asked for it. Walls are too thin and you can hear things from other adjoining rooms.

Great location, good room and helpful staff - highly recommended

Had a really nice 7 night stay at Avicenna Hotel in April. The location of the hotel is excellent - only 5 mins walk from the Blue Mosque and 10 mins to most of the other main attractions and bazars. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. We were originally given a room on the bottom floor of the annex that was a little dark. Reception staff were really helpful and were able to offer us another room and moved our bags over. The breakfast offers a great variety of food to suit all tastes and the dining room was a nice relaxed place to start the day. Without exception the staff were very helpful and friendly. Many thanks to Avicenna for a lovely stay - we would definitely recommend this hotel.

good location

The location of this hotel was perfect. We had a lovely view of The Blue Mosque from our window. Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace and Grand Bazaar all in walking distance. Many cafes and places to eat just seconds away and the sea couple minutes walk away. It was lovely and warm in the hotel which was good as we went in December and it was snowing. Room decor was good. The only let down was the breakfast, not my cup of tea. We ordered omlet but you had to pay extra for it. There wasnt much variety. Overall we had a good stay at the hotel and i would recommend it.

Spot-On !

Great location. Walking distance to main attractions - Trams - Ferry - Restaurants - Shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Prompt action on our room request by email. Even got our Bus tickets done in a jiffy. Excellent breakfast on the roof-top bar/restaurant with great view. Hope to return soon to this little gem, behind Blue Mosque. Much appreciated.

Super friendly staff, great location

My review is based in due respect to the very low price I paid per night, I think one always has to take that in consideration. My room was extremely small and the heating was barely working. As it was quite cold in Istanbul, I did ask to make the heating work and they did. The room was very clean however and I felt comfortable. The Staff of the Hotel is extremely friendly and professional and they do speak very well english, once help is needed. Even the breakfast buffet is fair enough, again, this aint no 5 Star place and I knew that before. So overall a very good place to stay if your expectations aren't too high. Also very close to the famous Mosques and the incredible huge Bazaar.
