Two piles of sick on the carpet as I entered the pub to access the ‘hotel’. Quite a loud and lively pub until gone 1am on a Sunday night (Mon morn). Not a peaceful stay therefore as the noise is audible from the room I was in. Basic room but tidy, curtains didn’t fully close, shower either no pressure or pressure but too hot, wardrobe but no hangers (??!!).

This has got to be the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, the place was filthy in every aspect. The decor was in a really poor state with water stains everywhere, wallpaper peeling off the walls, filthy carpets. There was other people’s rubbish in the bedside drawers. Also a very noisy hotel with there being a road all the way round the perimeter.

Close to town, was about the only positive The room was claustrophobic and looked unkempt. There was dust all around, the windows were dirty the mirrors smeared, the tea and coffee tray was dirty. We were so disappointed. Certainly not worth the money paid. We won't visit this place again. The room smelling stale. Sorry but it ruined our weekend.

Comfy bed but dirty room and shower

On my arrival the carpet hadn’t been cleaned and the shower tray was filthy. I spoke to the bar staff 4 times and on the 4th time someone finally came to clean the shower tray - I could cope with the carpet. The girl cleaning the shower then found the shower tray was blocked so would always look dirty. I asked if I could go into a room that was clean but she didn’t have the authority to do that but would make sure house keeping were aware and they would sort it in the morning I got back from a 15hr day at work and the room was cleaner but the shower still didn’t empty but at least it’s now my muck. Green king need to invest in their places. I will never recommend them and I will not book with them in future and I tour the county a lot

Hidden Extras

Stopped at the hotel for work, room and hotel facilities were ok, however, staff did not inform me that the hotel car park was pay and display and that I required a parking permit to leave my car. So imagine my anger when on a day off I found a parking ticket on my windscreen!!! Not happy.....

We are sorry that the bar staff didn't explain the need for a parking pass/parking ticket. However, the pay and display machine and sign is clearly displayed on the hotel car park. We will ensure our staff is re-advised for all parking procedures in the future. We look forward to seeing you again.

Location was OK, but very noisy due to traffic

Pros: nothing, we didn't stay in the end
Cons: The decor
Location: The hotel is located on two busy roads in/out of Chester.
The room I was allocated was in need of decorating. Paint was peeling off the ceiling and there was no door on the shower. Generally the hotel accommodation was in need of refurbishment. The wifi didn't work and it was a noisy room due to the traffic.

Absolutely terrible hotel

Pros: That hotel was the worst we've ever been to.
Cons: Total overhaul. The air ventilation should be improved.
Location: Location is quite close to the city center.
First the staff didn't even greet us when we arrived. The room doesn't have any kind of ventilation so you have to sleep window open so that you don't suffocate at night. When the window is open all the traffic noises are a BIG problem! There's a busy roundabout very close to the hotel. Plus there is a bus depot right next to the hotel and those sounds are also a problem in early morning. The lack of ventilation is a big problem in the bathroom since bathroom is covered with mould and smells like it! The room floor was quite dusty and dirty when we arrived and the bedsheets and pillow covers had stains all over them.
