plus points- lovely warm clean room, serviced well, friendly staff, warm hotel, water red hot all the time, beds comfy. rooms cleaned to a good standard each day. mediocre points-excellent strong wifi but not in bedrooms you have to use the lobby up on 1st or the ground floor front room. bonus free tea and coffee station on the 1st floor bar area. some might find the disco noise/friday/saturday street noise carries and i'd suggest ask for quieter rooms

Unfriendly

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Change the staff and teach your new staff manners and how to look after the paying customers
Double booked, didn't get the room we wanted, staff not bothered about people's concerns, bed rock hard, blocked in the hotel car park for over 4 hours, staff said it's not their problem and denied it was their car park even thou they say it's theirs, room toilet broken, walls paper thin, didn't sleep all night as next room swearing and fighting till 4am,if you really want a great week end break DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Was so looking forward...

Pros: The general service was okay
Cons: Cleanliness basically.
Location: Southport itself is a wonderful place to stay in., Good for shopping, walking and exploring the seafront. It would take many visits to view it all.
Unfortunately this hotel was not up to scratch. I have stayed before but this time it didn't meet up to my expectations at all. The curtains would not close on one side and nothing was done about it even after me asking. The room I was in was too large for a single person and it was very drafty, It was very noisy from other people stopping there and the noise continued into the early hours.

value 1 night stay

Pros: Its location and very reasonable rates.
Cons: At breakfast the toast is kept on hot plate and it really dries out and goes very hard.
Location: Very central.Lots of eating places and shops. The promenade is not to far away.
We stayed 1 night after visiting a gig at the Cavern in Liverpool. Its very well placed in the center of Southport on Lord st.The bedroom was ok for 1 night but we have stayed a few times and have had much better rooms.I think they should check the heating in the rooms as the radiator was not on and it was a very cold night.I suppose I should have let them know.We had a very good breakfast with plenty of choice.

Wouldn't go again

The staff were friendly when checking in. The room was standard and could do with updating but that didn't really bother me as it was only somewhere to sleep. The room was directly facing a very loud bar where the music was blasting until 5am so wouldn't go again. Have stayed in much better places for the price.

hotel underwhelmed

Pros: close to all immenities
Cons: A complete renovation
Location: Plenty of restraurants and shops and close to pier
At first impression from the outside I was reluctant to go inside . The front aspect was very rundown and as you walk inside you were met by a dirty reception area and a noisy gambling arcade . The entrance to the car park from the front was filthy and there was litter every where. However when we went to the room it was actually ok clean enough for a one night stay , bed small for a double but ok.I would not stay here again. A shame ,it could be renovated into a lovely victorian hotel.

Tired hotel but what we expected for what we spent on a last minute room. Our room was acceptable and clean.
