Got to the hotel to see a sign saying no food unless pre booked went too the bar only too find some of the tap beers not available So went to Oxford for the rest of the day had a great meal back to hotel at 2230 to get some sleep only to find the mattress had springs stick out When complained in the morning all we got was we will order a new one not even a sorry All in all not a good experience

We stayed at the Dog House during week commencing 23.04.18. When we checked in there were issues with the rooms cleanliness and at best during the following four nights servicing the room was at best adequate. The major issue during the week was the very restricted choice on both breakfast and evening meal menus - by the third night 50% of the dishes were out of stock and awaiting delivery. How the staff coped with the complaints they received from various guests was amazing but they remained cheerful and helpful throughout. We made our views known to the staff during the stay but no management were available at any stage. This could be a fine hotel in a good quiet location but it suffers from a lack of attention to detail, and either very poor stock management or harsh budgetary constraint all symptons of very poor management. We wil lbe staying in the area again in the autumn but we would not visit another member of this group unless taings from guests improve.
